The safety and security of all our volunteers is of utmost importance. All Access Volunteers includes travel insurance with all of our volunteer programs. We do this by offering an International Volunteer Card to every AAV volunteer.
As a volunteer you will automatically be enrolled in the “Basic Travel Insurance Plan”, valid for trips up to 60 days. For long term volunteers, we recommend the “Premium Travel Insurance Plan”, valid for up to 180 days and includes upgraded services and added bonuses. This upgraded plan is at a cost of $45 extra. Your coverage will begin the moment you receive an email confirming your enrolment in the plan.
All volunteers will receive their IVC approximately 2 weeks prior to their scheduled departure date.
Basic Travel Insurance Plan:

Included 24-hr Assistance Plan With your IVC, you will receive 24-hour assistance anywhere in the world, including:
- Advancement of funds to cover on-site medical expenses.
- Language interpretation services in major languages (Spanish Included).
- Replacement of lost passport and other travel documents as may be required.
- Assistance to locate local physicians as well as dentists or medical facilities.
- 24-hr emergency live messaging with families, doctor, and other services.
- 24-hr access to professional medical guidance; professionals will monitor the insured’s condition and contact the insured’s personal physician.

- Pre-trip travel advice: around the clock access to important information including passport, visa, and vaccine requirements, travel advisories, embassy and consulate contacts, travel health advisories, and weather and currency information for your planned destination.
- Emergency cash transfer: assistance in coordinating as emergency cash advance.
- Restaurant referrals and reservations (based on availability).
- Ground transportation: location and arrangement for a transportation service to pick you up and deliver you to your desired destination.

Your IVC offers over a thousand discounts through a number of airlines, department stores, electronics, phone cards, cosmetics, TEFL courses, sporting goods, book shops, car rental, hotels, luggage, and more. These discounts apply for the entire year-long membership.
