About

Daniel CollinsAs my plane was in its final descent over the coast of Honduras, I had not the slightest clue that my life was about to change forever. In October 2007 I landed in a very different world than the one I knew. I committed to a 4-month project at a one-room schoolhouse in the stunning Pico Bonito Mountains off the north coast of Honduras. I was now in a very foreign place and didn’t speak a word of Spanish.

I had left Canada in search of purpose. I needed change in my life and I knew it could come from helping others. What I didn’t know was how much the very people I wanted to help would actually help me. My 4-month teaching commitment in Honduras soon turned into a year and 2 separate projects. Spearheading the second began to show me how much I wanted to stay involved and help others looking to get involved.

After traveling south for another few months reaching Buenos Aires, Argentina; I was ready to return to Canada. I returned home over a year later with a new found direction and passion in life. It was then a matter of turning all the ideas running through my head into something real and that would encompass both what volunteers were looking for and what the people they were looking to help needed most.

All Access Volunteers started as an idea; an idea to help volunteers find opportunities throughout Latin America. Before I departed, I quickly found how easy it was to locate various types of organizations throughout the region. However, finding one that provided detailed information about their efforts and that I could entrust with the next 4 months of my life was extremely difficult. All Access Volunteers was founded under the vision of helping to create the valuable link between non-governmental organizations and volunteers.

It is our goal to provide the prospective volunteer with the necessary information and tools to make an informed decision about where to volunteer. Our experienced and much traveled staff personally know all the areas we operate in. They too have been both travelers and volunteers and have lived and worked across Latin America.

Through our extended network of partner organizations and local businesses, you can easily feel safe and secure in knowing you are in great hands. We surround ourselves with only people that share our same values and goals and have the common vision of helping others in need while at the same time providing our volunteers with the best experience possible.
